About Us

About Us

We are a family of believers committed to reflecting Jesus’ love to one another and to our communities. Although we are a church of many cultures, we are one in faith, one in spirit, and one in purpose.

Pastor Flemming

Oville Fleming, an ordained minister and a native of St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands began his ministry in 1989. His pastoral training took place at Caribbean Union College (now the University of the Southern Caribbean) and at Andrews University. He has ministered on the islands of St. Kitts, Montserrat, St. Thomas in the USVI, St. Eustatius and Anguilla. Oville loves working with the youth of the church and in each district where he pastored the youth work flourished. In addition to his pastoral duties at Lakeview he also leads the Pathfinder Club. Oville and his wife Candyss-Ann were married in 1990 and have a son and daughter. Pastor Fleming considers himself a servant of God and a friend to man.

Our Mission

The mission of the Lakeview Seventh-day Adventist Church is to communicate to every person in the City of Powder Springs and beyond the message of God’s Biblical truth in the spirit of Divine Love and in the context of the Three Angels’ Messages of Revelation 14:6-12, and as revealed in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; leading them to accept Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord and to unite with His church; and to nurture believers as disciples in preparation for His soon return.

Leading them to accept Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord and to unite with His church

Our Method

We pursue this mission under the guidance of the Holy Spirit through:

  1. Proclamation. Accepting Christ’s commission (Matthew 28:18-20), we proclaim the message of salvation at our weekly Sabbath worship services, midweek prayer meetings and daily via through the Light of Hope television programs.
  2. Instruction. Acknowledging that development of mind and character is essential to God’s redemptive plan, we promote the growth of a mature understanding of and relationship to God, His Word, and the created universe through the Sabbath School programs for adults and children of all age groups, the onsite Christian Education Center, and various recreational, vocational and spiritual activities and programs.
  3. Service. Affirming the Biblical emphasis on the well-being of the whole person, we make the preservation of health and the healing of the sick a priority through our ministry to the poor and oppressed utilizing local resources of the Community Services and Health Ministries of the church.

Our Vision

In harmony with the Biblical teaching of the mission of God’s church, we see the Lakeview Church growing into a congregation of accepting and loving families and individuals who worship in an attractive and God-honoring sanctuary; offering high quality Christian education; developing resources for the on-site Center of Evangelism, where training will be available for those who desire to become dynamic and effective soul-winners for God’s Kingdom.
